Mobile Number Portability in India

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) instructed mobile companies to update their system for Mobile Number Portability scheme by 31 Dec 2009. Initially Mobile Number Portability will be launched in metro cities. Customers  will be able to change mobile operator at nominal cost. TRAI also fixed charges for mobile number portability scheme. Mobile operator charge anything equal or less then Rs19. This facility certainly start competition between mobile operators and we all hope improvements in quality of services offered by the mobile operator.
